A) Installing the Theme - top
To install the Alterna Theme you need WordPress 3.5 or later.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you unzip the downloaded file from ThemeForest first . The content of this file contains the actual theme zip file called "alterna.zip". This is the theme file. Now, to install the theme follow one of the following two methods:
Method 1:
Upload the alterna.zip file through the WordPress admin backend (This will ONLY work if the server that hosts your website allows upload limits greater than 10 MB. Please note, most hosting providers have only up to 2MB file upload limit):
Method 2:
unzip the alterna.zip and upload the extracted alterna/ folder to <wordpress install directory>/wp-content/themes/ with your FTP tools so that the structure looks like:/wp-content/themes/alterna/.
Once the upload is complete go to the WordPress administrator backend and activate the theme (the theme should appear now under Appearance --> Themes)
And our theme options should appear now near the bottom of the sidebar under the name: Alterna Options:
Then, please input your ThemeForest Username and API for theme UPDATE - Alterna Theme Update:
- Click "Alterna Options" button.
- Input ThemeForest Username.
- Input ThemeForest API (To obtain your API Key, visit your "My Settings" page on any of the Envato Marketplaces.).
- click bottom "sava changes" button save and done.
B) Retina Setting & Plugins Install - top
As Retina ready, you need install a wp retina 2x plugin when install theme done.
- Click "Begin installing plugin" button of top alert message.
- Click "install" of current WP Retina Plugin when you mose over.
- Return Dashboard when complete install.
- Open WP Retina Setting through "Setting" -> "WP Retina 2x".
- Check "large" disabled the size don't retina, because of the size too big.
- Check "Auto Generate" button will auto works for @2x image.
- Check "Save Changes" button complete all setting.Then all retina setting done.
- Then retina setting done.

You also need install another plugin named Revolution Slider Plugin & LayerSlider Plugin method same it.

C) Menu Setting - top
We used "Alterna Menus" for alterna theme so you need setting menu for theme when theme installed.
- Open Menus Setting througth "Admin" -> "Appearance" -> "Menus".
- Create a menu or use you already created menu.
- Add pages or link for your menu.
- Add your menu for theme "Alterna Menus" of Theme Locations Panel.
- All save , then setting done.

D) WooCommerce Setting (option) - top
We had integrate WooCommerce begin v1.0.3, if you need a shop for your site, please follow these step.
- You can down WooCommerce plugin throught here http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woocommerce/ or search plugin "woocommerce" will show "WooCommerce - excelling eCommerce" in admin panel -> add new .
- Active WooCommerce plugin and click "Install WooCommerce Pages" button auto create all shop pages (Important).

NOTICE: You need first setting your product size through Admin -> WooCommerce -> Setting -> Product tab -> Product size.
E) Custom Page For Home - top
About home page you need create a page with template or content, then throught "Admin" -> "Reading" -> "Front page:" choose your page.
- Open "Pages" -> "Add New".
- Input your page name and add content (some template don't need input text content).
- Setting Page Options for your page layout , title , slider etc...
- Choose your page template, default don't need select.
- Click Publish button, then open "Reading" -> "Front page displays".
- Click "A static page (select below)" button then select the page for home page.
- All done then will works.

F) General Options - top
Then, you need some general options for your website like logo, favicon, google analytics etc...
- Open Alterna Options Panel throught left bar will find button.
- Click options all buttons and view them , if you need some one setting just change and click "Save Changes" button.

G) Blog - top
1.Setting Blog Page: We privode 2 style blog for u. Default style you just need throught "Admin" -> "Reading" -> "Posts page:" then select your page. Another style you just choose "Blog Waterfall Flux with AJAX" template for your page.
- Add New page.
- Input page name
- Choose page template if you need "Blog Waterfall Flux with AJAX" style.
- Setting page options.
- Publish

2.Add Blog Post: We privode 'gallery', 'video', 'audio', 'image' and 'quote' post format for u choose.You also can setting post page layout etc...
- Add New post.
- Input post name
- Upload thumbs image throught click "Set features image".
- Input your post content.
- Setting post options.
- Choose post format.
- Add or Choose post category.
- Add tags.
- Publish

H) Portfolio - top
1.Setting Portflio Page: We also privode 2 style portfolio for u. You just choose "Portfolio Template" or "Portfolio Waterfall Flux with AJAX" template for your page.
- Add New page.
- Input page name
- Choose page template.
- Setting page options.
- Publish

2.Add Portfolio Item: We privode 'gallery', 'video' and 'image' format for u choose.You also can setting portfolio page other options etc...
- Add New post.
- Input post name
- Upload thumbs image throught click "Set features image".
- Input your post content.

- Publish

I) Contact Page - top
About contact page, you just need create a page and choose contact template. Why here we add the help , because of the page includes Google Map setting on page options.
- Add New page.

J) Sidebar Setting - top
We provide unlimited sidebar support , you can create or remove sidebar for you pages.
- Open Sidebars througth "Admin" -> "Appearance" -> "Sidebars".
- Input sidebar name and create it.
- Add widgets into sidebar throught "Admin" -> "Appearance" -> "Widgets".
- Drag widget into the sidebar.
- Open your page and add the sidebar for page.
- All save , then setting done.

K) Font & Color Settings - top
We provide options for u change font & colors , you just need open "Alterna Options" -> font or -> color.
- Open options setting page.
- Setting params value.
- Click "Save Changes".
- All down will works.

You also can custom css throught here for your custom style.
L) CSS Files and Structure - top
Alterna theme fully responsive layout. Default CSS files are located in the <themes-directory>alterna/style.css and <themes-directory>alterna/css/responsive.css.
About Custom css files located in the <themes-directory>alterna/custom/custom-styles.php.The custom css files are registered and included in the <head> via alterna_custom_styles() function located in the functions.php.
JavaScript files are located in the <themes-directory>alterna/js/.
All JavaScript are registered and included in the <head> via alterna_init_styles_scripts() function located in the functions.php.
If appear "Write theme css error."
- 1. As above said , Please make sure your site can generate(write) files permissions wp-content/uploads/ setting 777 permissions.(You can use ftp tools, right click will find options and setting)
- 2.Then check your custom can been works. If still not works means your site save files method used ftp etc… ,so please edit your site root/wp-config.php files add below code into config file.
